Welcome to Tee Ball at Glenwood Little League!
We offer Tee Ball to players starting at age 5.
When is practice?
Practices can begin the first week of March! Most practices will take place at one of a handful of schools within the southern Battle Ground and northern Evergreen School Districts (higher divisions such as Majors, Intermediate and Jr’s will often practice at Glenwood LL due to batting distance). Prior to games starting, most teams – above the Tball Division - will practice 2-3 times/week; once games begin you will typically play 2 games/week which means your practice schedule will vary.
When are Games?
Games will begin on the date of opening ceremonies. Most weeks your team will have 2 games scheduled. Most Coaches will ask that you arrive 15 – 30 minutes before game time to warm-up; each individual coach will make this determination and let you know their expectations. It's important to communicate with your team manager or coach if your child is unable to attend practice or games. Most games will be 3 innings long (typically this translates to about an hour).
What happens if it's rains?
In the event of a rain-out, please keep an eye on the GWLL website and Facebook Page. Facebook is generally updated first, and you will receive an email from GWLL about an hour prior to game time in the event of a cancellation. It is up to team managers to reschedule games.
When will we know what team and coach we have?
Thank you for your patience! You will receive an email as soon as your child has been placed on a team. Teams are formed in mid-late February. You will be contacted by the league with players team assignment and your players coach will reach out to you. In the mean time download the Game Changer Mobile app.
Each team will have (assuming enough people step up) 1 Manager and 2 Coaches…we are ALWAYS seeking volunteers to help Coach, so please consider volunteering!!! Now say this all together…WE LOVE OUR TEAM MOM/DAD! Every team needs one Mom or Dad (or Grandma or Grandpa or Aunt – you get the idea) to be the Team Parent for the season. They will help the Coaches keep the schedule maintained, correspond with the team, arrange the ordering of team sweatshirts/coats, be a fundraiser liaison, plan the end-of-season party and generally just be a lifesaver for coaches and parents. Don’t worry, Brave Team Parent…you are not alone!! A Team Parent Coordinator will be available to help answer any questions you may have. There will be a meeting for all Team Parents in Early March after teams have been assigned and practices begun (firm date and time TBD) and everything you need to know will be addressed then.
How do I Volunteer?
Volunteers (Managers, Umpires, Coaches, Board Members & Team Parents), it is important to remind our community that ALL of our volunteers that will be working with the kids must pass a background check. From Managers to Parents helping at practices/in the dugout to Umpires, even if you are not in a position that requires board approval, you still need to log into your Sports Connect Account (the same way you did to register your player) and follow the instructions so that we can run the background check. It is free to you and only takes a minute. All Volunteers must complete the Little League Abuse Awarenss Course and upload it into the Volunteer Application.
What about uniforms?
Your Coach/Team Parent will decide what color pants, belts, socks, undershirt you will need for games and inform you of that once uniforms are confirmed. Your player will receive a tshirt and hat.
For practice you need a glove, helmet and athletic cup (for the boys)…yes, even at the Tball level! The Minors division and above will ask that you wear pants, not shorts, to practice. Bat rules change periodically, so take the time to visit our website and look over any new guidelines to ensure that the bat you have (or purchase) meets the requirements. It is NOT recommended that players share helmets.
