Glenwood Little League

Team Managers and Coaches

The Little League® manager and coach must be leaders. All must recognize that they hold a position of trust and responsibility in a program that deals with a sensitive and formative period of a child’s development.

It is required that the manager and coach have understanding, patience and the capacity to work with children. The manager and coach should be able to inspire respect. Above all else, managers and coaches must realize that they are helping to shape the physical, mental and emotional development of young people.

The Little League manager must be something more than just a teacher. Knowledge of the game is essential but it is not the only badge of a Little League coach or manager and training is available.

Each year, Little League® provides its constituent leagues with current Little League rules, regulations, and policies that outline and define the operation of the program. It is important for all Little League volunteers and parents to be familiar with the most up-to-date version of Little League’s Official Regulations, Playing Rules, and Operating Policies. These rulebooks, published for all divisions of Little League Baseball®Little League Softball®, and the Little League Challenger Division® provide the structure and support for local leagues and Districts to provide a meaningful Little League experience for all children in their community.

Team Names and Uniform Guidelines:

Choosing your team name and colors is the fun part of being the Manager. It's recommended you choose a name of a major league team but for younger players you may also consider choosing something like Purple dragons Tball team  or Blue Birds Softball.

Guidelines are put in place to ensure uniforms and teams represent the values of Glenwood little League.
Team names must not be graphic in nature including but not limited the exclusion of blood, profanity, vulgarity, references to death, or other inappropriate content etc..

Glenwood Little League will provide each player with a jersey and  cap as part of the participation fee.
Jersey and caps are typically delivered by the first game.
